Data field formatting
A data field can be formatted to be right or left justified and padded with leading
numbers or blank spaces. Tab. 2.86 shows the symbols used to describe the data
fields in Tab. 2.87.

Data field length
The length of a data field can be permanently defined or remain variable up to a
maximum length.
