Reduced run capability
If one of the parallel-connected (frame R8i) inverter modules of an inverter unit must
be taken out of the cabinet for service, it is possible to continue operation at reduced
power using the remaining modules. Contact an ABB representative for directions.
Checking and replacing the air filters
1. Read and repeat the steps in section Safety instructions on page 115.
2. Open the cabinet doors.
3. Check the air filters and replace if necessary (see chapter Technical data for the
correct filter types). The inlet (door) filters can be accessed by removing the
fastener(s) at the top of the grille, then lifting the grille and pulling it away from the
door. The outlet (roof) filter in IP54 units has a similar mechanism.
4. Check the cleanliness of the cabinet. Clean the interior of the cabinet if necessary
using a soft brush and a vacuum cleaner.
5. Close the cabinet doors.
