Required equipment
Draining, oil, axis 6
The procedure below details how to drain oil from the gearbox, axis 6.
When using the oil exchange equipment, follow the instructions enclosed with the kit. Art.
no. for the kit is specified in Required equipment on page 198.

Action Note
1. IRB 6600/6650:Run the robot to a position where
the oil plug, draining of axis 6 gearbox is facing
downwards and the oil plug, filling, is facing
upwards.

where the oil plug, draining is facing downwards.

DANGER!
Turn off all electric power, hydraulic and
pneumatic pressure supplies to the robot!
For Foundry Prime robots: Do not turn off the air
pressure to motors and SMB.

Handling gearbox oil involves several safety risks.
Before proceeding, please observe the safety
information in section WARNING - Safety risks
during work with gearbox oil on page 41.
4. Drain the oil from the gearbox into a vessel by
removing the oil plug.
