Remove the plug from the vent hole.
WARNING
Open the vent hole while using the dis-
penser, to avoid damaging vital parts in the
gear.

Suck out the oil with the oil dispenser.
Note
There will be some oil left in the gear after
draining.

Used oil is hazardous material and must
be disposed of in a safe way. See section
Decommissioning on page 813 for more in-
formation.

Vent hole plug, tightening torque: 24 Nm.Refill oil or:
1 Remove the oil dispenser
2 Refit the protective cap on the
nipple.
3 Refit the vent hole plug.

Filling oil into the axis-2 gearbox
Use this procedure to refill the gearbox with oil.

Turn off all:
• electric power supply
• hydraulic pressure supply
• air pressure supply
to the robot, before entering the robot
working area.
