Control board Inverter internal circuit board in which the inverter firmware runs.

IGBT Insulated-gate bipolar transistor
Inverter Converts direct current and voltage to alternating current and voltage.
Main disconnector A manually controlled isolation switch which can be locked in the open
position.
MPPT Maximum power point tracking. An inverter firmware function that
automatically operates the photovoltaic generator, array, string or
module at its maximum power point.
Parameter User-adjustable operation instruction to the inverter, or signal
measured or calculated by the inverter.
Photovoltaic array Group of parallel-connected photovoltaic strings
Photovoltaic cell Solar cell or photovoltaic cell is an electronic device that converts solar
energy into direct current by the photovoltaic effect. Photovoltaics is the
field of technology related to the application of solar cells for solar
energy. Assemblies of cells are used to make solar modules, or
photovoltaic arrays, which generate electricity.

In this manual, solar power system components based on photovoltaic
effect are called photovoltaic cell, module, array, string and string
combiner box.
Photovoltaic
generator
The total of all photovoltaic strings of a solar power supply system,
which are electrically interconnected.
Photovoltaic module Packaged interconnected assembly of photovoltaic cells that can be
installed as a single unit and connected to other panels to form an
array.
Photovoltaic string Circuit of series-connected photovoltaic modules.
Protective earth (PE) Protective electrical grounding of the equipment or system.
RCMU AC and DC sensitive residual current monitoring unit. Measures the
currents in the L1, L2 and L3 conductors.
SPD Surge protection device
String combiner box Device that connects outputs of multiple photovoltaic source circuits
(strings) into a combined output circuit or circuits.
String inverter Low-power photovoltaic inverter which typically has one or a few string
input(s). Converts direct current and voltage from a photovoltaic array
to alternating current and voltage to the grid.
THD Total harmonic distortion
TL Transformerless, no galvanic separation between DC and AC circuits.
