Distance protection zones
While measuring operating characteristics, keep the current constant. Keep the current
as close as possible to its rated value or lower, however make sure it is higher than
30% of the rated current.
If the measurement of the operating characteristics runs under constant voltage
conditions, ensure that the maximum continuous current in an IED does not exceed
four times its rated value.
To verify the zone 1 mho characteristic, at least two points must be tested.
