2.2 Safety directives
On all types of work on high-voltage circuit-breakers, the risks listed below must be
taken into consideration and corresponding measures must be taken.
WARNING
Breakers with pressurised insulators.
Mechanical damage to the porcelain can cause it to explode with the
following risk of splintering.
Work on the circuit-breaker that risk mechanical damage to the insulators
should be carried out at a reduced gas pressure, 0.125 MPa (abs).
WARNING
Do not operate the mechanism unloaded!
Operations shall take place only when the mechanism has been connected
and trimmed with the associated circuit-breaker.
The standard operating cycle is O- 0.3 s - CO - 3 min. -CO. The time between
closing operations should not be less than 1 minute when circuit-breakers and relay
systems are tested with more than 3 closing operations.
