4.3 Cleaning and waste disposal
CAUTION
Some decomposition products formed in the breaking unit can, when
coming in contact with moisture, become corrosive and can irritate the
skin, eyes and mucous membrane.
Protective gloves of plastic or rubber, long-sleeved overalls and a full face mask
with a fine particle and acidic gas filter must be worn when cleaning the inside of
the circuit-breaker.
The dust (decomposition products) that forms in the circuit-breaker can be removed
using a vacuum cleaner fitted with a micro-filter and wiped off using a soft cloth
dampened with alcohol.
N. B. All dust, old absorption agent, used cloths, etc., should be collected in
a sealed vessel and treated as chemical waste according to applicable
local directives.
Protective gloves must be worn during all waste handling.
N. B. Protective gloves should be rinsed thoroughly in water after waste
handling.
