Display Indications
Display Meaning Action
BAT
The testing cannot be performed because
the battery is low.
Replace with new batteries. Be aware of the
polarity when inserting the batteries (+/- pole).
CAL
The device should be calibrated (to
maintain measurement accuracy and
sensor warranty).
Please send the device in for calibration or
purchase a new sensor. You can send the
device for calibration to the service address
given at www.alkomat.net or order a new sensor
in the shop.
Flo
The sampling volume or blow power is not
enough to analyze the breath sample.
Switch the device on again and blow
steadily, constantly and long enough into
the mouthpiece or mouthpiece opening
(depending on the selected test mode). It is
best to blow as if you were whistling without
a sound.
Out
If no breath sample was given within 3
minutes, the device turns off automatically.
This also happens after 1 minute without
using the device.
Press power button to restart the countdown
cycle and retest.
SEN
The sensor is defective. Purchase a new sensor or send the instrument
to ACE Instruments (www.alkomat.net) for
service.
Change of the Sensor
1. Loosen the screw on
the top of the device but
don`t pull it out.
2. Carefully remove the cover and then the sensor
module like it is shown on the two pictures on the
right side. Do NOT detach the cable from the body!
3. Remove the cable
from the slot underneath
the sensor module and
pull the old sensor off
from the metal blank.
4. After preparing a new
calibrated or new sensor
module insert the cable
into the new sensor. Clip
on the new sensor on
the metal blank.
Please note: Put the
blue stripe on the blue
point!
5. Insert the sensor into
the frame.
6. The two pictures on the right show the correct
position of the sensor.
7. Re-attach the cover
on the top of the body.
It should snap in fairly
easily.
8. The front of the cover has to fit exactly into the
body. If the pins in front of the sensor don`t fit,
please carefully press them back into the body.
9. To finish the process,
size the screw again.
Calibration
To maintain the accuracy of the breathalyzer, ACE Instruments recommends a calibration after 500 tests or
every 6 to 12 months (depending which incident happens first). For a calibration service you can send the
device to ACE Instruments (see www.alkomat.net). The calibration is not mandatory, but the accuracy of the
breathalyzer will decrease steadily and additionally the warranty for the sensor expires.
We recommend sending it as a parcel, so that in case of loss an inquiry or proof of delivery is possible.
