Opening the server
Caution: Before you proceed, make sure that you have turned off
the system and all peripherals connected to it. Read the “Pre-
installation instructions” on page 27.
You need to open the server before you can install additional
components or access the system’s internal components. Refer to the
following sections for instructions.
Removing the top cover
Note: Observe the ESD precautions and pre-installation
instructions described on page 27.
1 Press and hold the two release buttons.
2 Slide the cover toward the rear of the chassis.
3 Lift the cover off the chassis.
4 Put the top cover aside for reinstallation later.
