Function Description

The Saniclass Adema IP44 Illuminated Mirror is designed for bathroom use, featuring an IP44 rating for protection against water splashes. It includes LED backlighting and a heated de-mister pad to prevent fogging. The mirror is equipped with an IR sensor for controlling its functions.

Important Technical Specifications

  • IP Rating: IP44, indicating protection against solid objects larger than 1mm and water splashes from any direction.
  • Installation Zone: Suitable for installation in Zone 2 of a bathroom (refer to lighting regulations diagram for specific zones).
  • Power Supply: Requires connection to a mains electrical supply.
  • Mounting: Wall-mounted using two fixing screws.
  • Bulb Type: Specific bulb type and wattage must be used as detailed in the luminaire specifications (not provided in this excerpt).
  • Demister Pad: Heats the mirror surface above room temperature to remove mist.
  • IR Sensor: Allows for touchless control of LED color, light on/off, and demister on/off. When lights are on, the sensor can also adjust light brightness.

Usage Features

  • Touchless Control: The IR sensor allows users to wave their hands in front of it to change LED color, turn lights on/off, and control the demister.
  • Brightness Adjustment: When the lights are on, placing hands in front of the sensor can change the brightness of the light.
  • De-misting: The integrated de-mister pad automatically heats the mirror surface to prevent fogging, ensuring a clear reflection after showers or baths.
  • Shelf Fixing (Selected Models Only): For models with a glass shelf, metal support arms attach to the bottom of the mirror frame. A rubber washer must be used during shelf installation to maintain the IP44 rating.

Installation Steps

  1. Isolate Power: Before starting, isolate the power supply at the fuse box.
  2. Check Installation Area: Ensure no concealed cables or pipework are in the intended installation area.
  3. Mark Fixing Holes: Position the mirror at the desired height and level, then mark the positions of the two fixing holes on the wall using a suitable marker.
  4. Drill Holes: Drill holes at the marked locations using the correct size drill bit for the wall fixing. Note that for certain wall types (e.g., plasterboard), the supplied wall fixings may not be suitable.
  5. Insert Rawl Plugs: Place the rawl plugs into the drilled holes.
  6. Feed Supply Cable: Feed the electrical supply cable through the central rubber grommet on the mirror's back plate.
  7. Secure Back Plate: Position the back plate and secure it using the correct fixings. Rubber washers provided must be used to prevent water penetration and maintain the IP44 rating.
