<name> Specifies a label for the view list being created. View list names cannot exceed
32 characters in length.
<OID> Specifies the MIB’s object identifier (OID). OIDs cannot exceed 255 characters in length.
Place a ‘. prior to entering the MIB. For example, the OID 1.3.6.1.2.1 would be entered as
.1.3.6.1.2.1. Replace a single subidentifier with the asterisk (*) to specify a subtree family. Enter .1 to
view all OIDs on the switch.
exclude Displays the view of all MIBs in a specified subtree family except the specified MIB.
include Displays the view of the specified MIB or subtree family.
Multiple OID entries can be added to a view. For example, to include the view of OID 20.2.1.1.3 and 1.3.6.1.2.1
in the view list named Tier2, issue the following commands:
(config)#snmp-server view Tier2 .20.2.1.1.3 include
(config)#snmp-server view Tier2 .1.3.6.1.2.1 include
Step 5: Configure Access to SNMP Information
Use the snmp-server access command to configure the SNMP security model, access level, and optional
SNMP views for a group.
(config)snmp-server access <security groupname> model [any|v1|v2c|v3] level
[auth|no auth|priv] [read <name>] [write <name>]
<security groupname> Specifies the SNMP security group name that was created in Step 3 on page
12. Valid names cannot exceed 32 characters in length.
model
any Specifies that any SNMP security model is accepted.
v1 Specifies that the SNMPv1 security model is used.
v2c Specifies that the SNMPv2c security model is used.
v3 Specifies that the SNMPv3 security model is used.
level
auth Specifies the authNoPriv security level for the SNMP group.
no auth Specifies the noAuthNoPriv security level for the SNMP group.
priv Specifies the authPriv security level for the SNMP group.
read <name> Optional. Specifies the name of the SNMP view created in Step 4 on page 12 for
read-only access for the group. View names cannot exceed 32 characters in length.
write <name> Optional. Specifies the name of the SNMP view created in Step 4 on page 12 for read
and write access for the group. View names cannot exceed 32 characters in length.

The exclude keyword is most often used to exclude a specific subtree following an entry where
an entire subtree family has been included.
