2 Installation and Start Up
Installing your UV-Visible Spectrophotometer
switch is off, see Figure 1.
3 Plug the female end of the power cord into the power input socket at
the rear of the spectrophotometer. Plug the male end of the power cord
into your electrical outlet.
Installing the Waste Tubing
There is a waste outlet for the sample area. It is used to drain any liquids
which may come from the sample area in case of a leak or a spill to a
waste container. To connect your waste tubing to the spectrophotometer:
1 Lift the front part of the spectrophotometer up so that you can locate
the waste outlet underneath the sample pan.
2 Connect the waste tubing which comes with your spectrophotometer to
the waste outlet underneath the sample pan.
3 Put the other end of the waste tubing into the waste container.
4 Make sure that the waste tubing has a constant down slope from the
spectrophotometer to the waste container.
