moulds from forming.
See 10 _ Never use gasoline, benzene or other chemical products and solvents as they can impair the operation
and structure of some helmet components and weaken its protective features. For the same reason, we strongly
advise against painting the helmet, as the solvents in paints can damage the materials of the helmet. Never
modify the helmet (for example, drill holes or make cuts in the shell, press the polystyrene, cut the retention
system or internal parts) as this would weaken the structure and impair its protective properties. Always replace
components with AGV original spare parts: contact an AGV dealer if you are unsure how to carry out any op-
eration on the helmet.
See 11 _ Avoid all conduct or use of the helmet that could impair its performance:
- do not ride with the helmet fastened to the theft-prevention/helmet ring or to the saddle, to avoid knocks and
abrasions
- do not place the helmet on rear view mirror stems or on backrests to avoid damaging the padding
- do not sit on the helmet or place it on the ground
- do not leave the helmet in places such as the fuel tank or saddle of the bike, from which it could easily fall and
be damaged. For the same reason, keep the helmet away from children and animals, who could cause it to fall,
scratch or damage it.
- Do not remove structural parts of the helmet, such as the internal shell, strap or seals.
- Do not expose the helmet to strong sunlight.
N.B. Fluo colours are particularly delicate and sensitive to light: Dainese S.p.A. does not guarantee the
duration of the quality of Fluo colours over time.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE OF VISOR AND PLASTIC PARTS
WARNINGS
The visor must been kept in excellent condition at all times to ensure perfect visibility. The
visor must be replaced immediately when it is scratched, damaged or cannot be cleaned
properly. In particular, visibility may be drastically reduced when a visor has scratches or
abrasions, especially in the rain or in the dark when encountering oncoming vehicles with
headlights on (See 12).
To clean the visor properly, remove it from the helmet and clean with a soft cloth and the
special AGV cleaner. Alternatively, use a soft cloth moistened in warm water: of the visor
is very dirty, a mild soap can be added to the water. Rinse the visor under running water
and dry it with a soft dry cloth. Both visor and helmet are much easier to clean, and better
results are obtained, if they are cleaned immediately after use.
Never use gasoline, benzene, glass cleaners or other chemical products and solvents, as they
can impair the quality of the visor
Never dry the visor on sources of heat
Do not use sharp or pointed objects to remove dirt from the visor, as these could scratch it.
Do not apply stickers or adhesive tape to the visor
Follow the same instructions to clean plastic parts of the helmet, such as air vents and visor
mechanism. To remove dirt, dust or insects from parts that cannot be reached with a cloth,
try using compressed air. If there is any risk of soiling the inside of helmet during this oper-
ation remove all the padding, or cover it with newspaper to protect it
VISOR MOVEMENT
The visor is made of scratch-proof polycarbonate, and is provided with a mechanism for roto-translational move-
ment: this enables the visor to move away from the helmet and rotate during opening, while guaranteeing excel-
lent airtightness during closing.
The mechanism has 3 operating positions: fully closed with the visor locked by the mechanism on the chin
guard, ideal while riding at high speed, visor open with micro-openings to allow a small amount of air to ow in
while riding at low speed, visor fully open and completely raised to be used only with the vehicle stopped and to
make it easier to put the helmet on and make adjustments.
Besides guaranteeing excellent airtightness while riding, the visor locking mechanism reduces the probability
of it opening in case of a fall, preventing any foreign bodies from coming into contact with the user’s head. .
The visor fastens automatically when lowered, while 2 operations are required to open it:
1 – press the button and push the visor upward (13), the visor will be released in the micro-opening conguration;
2 – press the button again and push the visor upward (14), the visor will be released fully and free to rotate to the
fully open conguration (15).
Important. We recommend that you carry out the following operations while resting
the helmet on a at surface.
REMOVING THE VISOR
To remove the visor, lift it until it is fully open (15),
then starting from one of the two sides of the helmet, pull the release lever downward (16) and move the visor
away from the shell (17).
Repeat the operation on the other side and remove the visor.
FITTING THE VISOR
Starting from one side of the helmet, with the visor fully lifted (15), pull the visor locking lever downward and
insert it onto the rectangular base of the mechanism fastened to the helmet (18). Then release the locking lever
(16) and repeat the operation on the other side. Open and close the visor to check correct rotation and operation
of the locking and micro-opening mechanism (Figs. 13, 14 and 15).
AVAILABLE VISORS
There are two versions of visor available: with anti-fog treatment or with Pinlock ® anti-fog inserts. Depending
on the market, the helmet may come with one or the other version of visor as standard equipment. In both cases
however, they are available as accessories.
WARNINGS
No anti-fog device can guarantee that a visor will not mist up. What they can do is delay its
formation. This means that with an anti-fog system, it simply takes longer for mist to form.
Under certain environmental conditions mist can and will form on the visor.
PINLOCK
®
ANTI FOG LENS AND TEAR-OFFS
The visor can be tted optionally with Pinlock anti fog lens and tear-os.
The Pinlock
®
anti fog lens is made of plastic materials capable of absorbing moisture and consequently preventing
the visor from fogging. The Pinlock anti fog lens adapts perfectly to the prole of the visor, where, once tted, it
forms an insulating and hermetic air chamber which nonetheless guarantees a wide eld of vision.
Tear-os are removable strips that allow the eld of vision to be kept clean and even for maximum visibility and
safety in any conditions.
WARNINGS
Where air temperature is under 20°C and humidity is in excess of 70%, we always recom-
mend the use of Pinlock
®
inserts. The same recommendation applies when it is raining.
