This document describes the A66 Medical Infrared Thermometer, a non-contact device designed for measuring human forehead temperature. It is intended for family use and cannot replace a doctor's diagnosis.
The A66 thermometer provides non-contact and high-precision body temperature measurement. It offers the flexibility to display temperature in either Celsius (°C) or Fahrenheit (°F). Users can switch between these units by pressing the "mode" key for 8 seconds during startup.
An alarm function is integrated, with a default alarm value set at 38°C, which can be adjusted. The device also includes a beep prompt function, which can be toggled on or off by pressing the "mode" key once during startup.
For use in dark environments, the LCD display features a backlight. This backlight can be activated by pressing the "light" key once during startup. Pressing the "light" key for 8 seconds allows conversion to object test mode.
The thermometer offers automatic range selection with a resolution of 0.1°C (0.1°F). It can store the latest 32 measured data points, which can be reviewed using the up and down keys. The device also features automatic data keeping and automatic shutdown to conserve battery life.
Before use, it is crucial to read the safety manual carefully. The optimal operating environment temperature for this product is between 16°C and 35°C. It should not be placed in environments hotter than 50°C or colder than 0°C, nor near charged objects to avoid electric shock. The device should not be used in environments with relative humidity greater than 85% and should be kept away from electromagnetic fields (e.g., radios, mobile phones). Direct sunlight exposure, proximity to stoves, and contact with water should be avoided. The thermometer should not be struck or dropped, and if damaged, it should not be used.
For accurate measurements, ensure that the forehead is free from sweat, hair, hats, or scarves. The measuring distance should be maintained between 5-10cm. If forehead sweat or other factors prevent accurate forehead temperature readings, the temperature can be measured from the posterior earlobe.
To operate, aim the thermometer at the middle of the forehead (above the eyebrows), keeping it vertical at a distance of about 5-10cm, and press the measuring switch. The temperature will be displayed immediately. The measured data is automatically stored. If the thermometer has not been used for a long time, it will detect the environment temperature upon startup, extending the startup time by 1-2 seconds.
The human body temperature varies throughout the day and is influenced by external conditions such as age, sex, and skin color. The manual provides reference values for normal body temperature at different measuring positions (anus, oral cavity, armpit, ear, forehead) and for different age groups. It also notes that women's body temperature is generally 0.3°C higher than men's, and during ovulation, it can be 0.3°C-0.5°C higher than usual.
The protective glass outside the LCD frame is a fragile part and requires careful handling. Non-rechargeable batteries should not be charged or thrown into fire. The product should not be exposed to direct sunlight or water.
For cleaning, the instrument surface should be gently wiped with alcohol. The probe, being the most precise part, must be carefully protected. Corrosive detergents should not be used, and the product should not be immersed in water or other liquids. It should be stored in a dry place, away from dust, pollution, and direct sunlight.
Regular cleaning of the infrared thermometer is recommended, usually once a month, or as needed based on its dirty condition. It can be cleaned with a dry soft cloth. If particularly dirty, the main body can be wiped with a damp cloth stained with water or neutral detergent, followed by a dry cloth. The product features automatic calibration, eliminating the need for manual calibration.
If the battery capacity is low, a symbol will appear on the display, prompting replacement. When replacing batteries, ensure correct positive and negative polarity to prevent damage to the product. If the product is not used for an extended period, the batteries should be removed to prolong their service life and prevent damage from battery liquid leakage.
In case of problems during use, such as the LCD displaying "Lo" or "HI," refer to the troubleshooting section. "Lo" indicates a temperature below 32°C or outside the measuring range, while "HI" indicates a temperature above 42.9°C or exceeding the measuring range. These readings can be caused by hair or sweat affecting the temperature value, airflow changes, or an incorrect measuring distance. To resolve these, ensure no obstacles are present during measurement, maintain stable air, and keep the measuring distance within 5-10cm. If transitioning from an outdoor environment with extreme temperatures, wait 20 minutes for the person to adapt to the measuring environment before taking a reading. If problems persist, contact the distributor for support rather than attempting individual repairs.
Electronic products and batteries should not be disposed of in regular garbage cans as they can harm the environment. They should be disposed of according to local laws or returned to the manufacturer for recycling.
