Overview

This document is a user manual for the Air Purifier, Model No: AP-528, manufactured by Air Choice. It provides essential information for safe operation, technical specifications, usage instructions, and maintenance guidelines.

Function Description

The Air Purifier AP-528 is designed to improve air quality in indoor environments. It features a 3-in-1 composite filter system to effectively remove pollutants from the air. The device includes a dust sensor that automatically detects air quality and adjusts the fan speed accordingly in auto mode. It also has a timer function for scheduled operation and a sleep mode for quiet night-time use. The air quality indicator light provides visual feedback on the current air quality.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Model No: AP-528
  • Rated Voltage: 120V 60Hz
  • Power: 42W
  • Recommended Coverage: 35-45 m²
  • Noise Level: 34~50dB
  • Product Size: 32.7 x 22 x 55.8cm
  • Weight: 5.0 KGS
  • Operating Temperature: 0°-35°C

Usage Features

The air purifier is equipped with a user-friendly control panel with several buttons and indicator lights:

  • On/Off Button: Powers the unit on or off. When first plugged in, the air quality indicator light flashes red, green, and blue for 1 second before settling on a color corresponding to the current air quality. The purifier defaults to AUTO fan speed upon activation.
  • Fan Speed Button: Allows selection of fan speeds: AUTO, LOW, MED, and HIGH. In AUTO mode, the device automatically adjusts fan speed based on detected air quality.
  • Sleep Mode Button: Activates a night mode, turning on a corresponding light and reducing operational noise for undisturbed sleep. Pressing it again deactivates the mode.
  • Timer Button: Sets the operation duration to 1, 2, 4, or 8 hours.
  • Air Quality Indicator Light: Displays air quality using three colors:
    • Blue: Good air quality (Low fan speed in auto mode).
    • Green: Neither good nor bad air quality (Mid fan speed in auto mode).
    • Red: Bad air quality (High fan speed in auto mode).
  • Reset Button: Flashes to indicate that the filter needs replacement. After replacing the filter, hold the RESET button for 3 seconds to turn off the light and restart the operation time calculation. The reset light is expected to come on after approximately 6 months of operation, assuming 12 hours of use per day.

Installation of Filters:

  1. Remove the front panel board by holding the top two sides and pulling it out.
  2. Take the 3-in-1 composite filter out of its plastic bag.
  3. Insert the filter into the machine, ensuring correct installation to prevent abnormal operation.
  4. Reattach the front panel board by pushing it back, making sure its feet are inserted into the machine's holes.
  5. Plug the power cord into an outlet.

Important Safeguards:

  • Use an individual electric supply socket; avoid extension cords to prevent overheating.
  • Do not immerse the appliance, cord, or plug in liquids.
  • Place the product on a flat, firm, and safe surface, away from edges or tilted areas.
  • Do not operate without filters or with damaged filters.
  • Avoid placing the product where it is exposed to condensation or extreme temperature changes (operate between 0°-35°C).
  • Always switch off the product before opening the cover or removing the filter.
  • Maintain a 30cm distance from soft objects like curtains to prevent blocking air inlet/outlet and overheating.
  • Use only original parts and accessories to maintain warranty validity.
  • Never operate unsupervised, especially around children.
  • Do not insert fingers or objects into the air outlet.
  • Periodically check the electric cable for damage; replace through after-sales service if damaged.
  • Avoid operating near gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids, or heat sources, to prevent explosions.
  • Not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience, unless supervised.
  • Unplug before cleaning, repairing, or moving.
  • Do not use with indoor smoke-type insect repellents, or in places with oily residues, burning incense, or chemical fumes.
  • Always unplug after use, holding the plug top, not the cord.

Maintenance Features

  • Filter Maintenance:
    • The 3-in-1 filter is non-washable.
    • Use a soft brush to clear dust from the filter surface.
    • Exposing the filter to sunshine occasionally can help extend its lifespan.
    • Filter replacement period varies based on operation hours and environment.
  • Dust Sensor Maintenance:
    • Use a soft brush to clear dust from the dust sensor surface to restore sensitivity.
    • It is suggested to clean the dust sensor on a monthly basis.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the product in its gift box in a safe, cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Troubleshooting:

The manual includes a troubleshooting section to address common issues such as low air flow, poor purification performance, and the air quality indicator light remaining red.
