Appendix D: Onsite Refrigerant Charging
117
C. Charging
1. Get the information of the refrigerant on the nameplate (weight, type). Use an electronic scale to measure
the initial weight of the refrigerant tank.
2. Connect the port in the middle of the 3-way gauge to the refrigerant charge port on the refrigerant tank
loosely.
3. Slightly open the charge valve on the refrigerant tank to discharge the gas in the rubber pipe, then connect
pipe closely to the 3-way gauge.
4. Turn on the charging valve on the 3-way gauge to start the charging process. It is recommended to start
from the suction side of the refrigerant system.
5. Keep an eye on the reading of the electronic scale. Close the valve on the refrigerant tank once the
specified refrigerant charging volume is reached. (±2% deviation is allowed)
Notice: The time interval between removing the vacuum pipe and charging refrigerant should be within 3
minutes.
