Usage Guidelines
• Use the no form of this command to delete a SAP profile.
• If a profile is not specified when a SAP is created, a default profile (default-sap-profile) is automati-
cally associated with the SAP.
• Use the ethernet-service sap sap-profile command to associate a profile to a VLAN Stacking SAP.
• Only one SAP profile name is associated with each SAP ID; however, it is possible to associate the
same SAP profile name to multiple SAP IDs.
• Use the cir, cbs, pir, and pbs traffic control parameters to configure Tri-Color Marking (TCM) ingress
rate limiting/policing for the SAP profile. These parameters are applied to packets serviced by the
SAP. For more information about TCM, see the “Configuring QoS” chapter in the OmniSwitch 6250
Network Configuration Guide.
• The ingress-bandwidth and cir parameter options are mutually exclusive; configure one or the other
to define rate limiting values for the SAP.
