IMPORTANT!
Slide the switch on/off switch (6) to the ‘OFF’ position. Remove all grass and weed rem-
nants at regular intervals to prevent the shaft tube overheating. Lawn, grass and weed
remnants become trapped under the safety shield and prevent the shaft tube from re-
ceiving adequate ventilation. Remove the remnants carefully using a screwdriver or the
like. (Fig. 14)
m CAUTION!
Do not use any kind of metal wire or metal wire encased in plastic in the line spool. This
may cause serious injuries to the user.
Replacing the trimming line, fig. 20
1. Press the lugs of the thread coil (2) located at the side.
2. Take off the housing of the thread coil (2) and if necessary, remove the remaining
pieces of the nylon line.
3. Cut off approx. 5 m of the nylon line and then cut it in half.
4. Place the nylon line with the loop in the slot provided in the thread coil (2). Then wind
the nylon line counterclockwise onto the thread coil (2).
5. Insert the thread coil so that the nylon line ends are in the recesses provided.
6. Cut the nylon line to a length of approx. 150 mm.
Replacing and cleaning the spark plug, fig. 11, 23
1. Once the engine has cooled down, remove the spark plug using the provided spark
plug wrench (17).
2. Clean the spark plug with a wire brush.
3. Set the electrode gap to 0.5 to 0.6 mm with a feeler gauge.
4. Replace a worn/faulty spark plug with a new one of the same type.
5. Insert the spark plug carefully by hand so that the line is not damaged.
6. After the spark plug is inserted, tighten it with the spark plug wrench.

Risk of fire and explosion!
If not cleaned correctly, fuel may ignite and even explode. This leads to severe burns
or death.
- Clean the air filter with water and, if necessary, with soap.
- Never use fuel or flammable solvents to clean the air filter.
NOTE!
Risk of damage!
Operating the engine without the filter element in place can cause engine damage.
