Overview

The HF digital display push-pull force gauge is a versatile and high-precision instrument designed for thrust and pull testing across various industries. It is widely applied in electronic appliances, construction hardware, light industrial textiles, auto parts, lighters and other ignition devices, fire equipment, pen making, lock making, fishing gear, chemical industry, power machinery, and scientific research institutions. This device offers high resolution, high sampling speed, and user-friendly operation, making it a new generation of efficient and precise force testing equipment.

Function Description

The primary function of the HF digital display push-pull force gauge is to measure push and pull forces. It supports various test modes, including real-time load measurement, peak hold, and automatic peak hold with adjustable time settings. The device can store up to 447 test values, which can be output to a computer for detailed analysis, including viewing, printing, calculating average, maximum, and minimum values, and assessing compliance with set requirements. It also features a unique switch contact on-off force test function for accurate measurement of contact forces.

For advanced applications, the device offers a comparison function where upper and lower limits can be set. If measured data falls outside these limits, a buzzer alarm is triggered, aiding in statistical analysis and quality control. The instrument can display measured values in three units: Newtons (N), kilograms (kg), and pounds (lb), with automatic conversion between them. For higher capacity models (HF10K and above), kilo-newtons (KN), tons (Kkg), and kilo-pounds (Klb) are displayed.

The device incorporates several user-friendly features such as a large 6-bit screen display for clear readings, automatic shutdown after 10 minutes of inactivity (customizable), and low battery detection with automatic shutdown to prevent inaccurate measurements. It also includes a gravity acceleration setting function, allowing users to input the precise local gravity acceleration value for more accurate testing and unit conversion.

Important Technical Specifications

The HF series offers a wide range of models with varying maximum load capacities, from 2N (0.2kg) to 1000N (100kg) for internal sensors, and up to 2000KN (200t) for external sensors. The load division values vary depending on the model, ranging from 0.001N (0.0001kg) for lower capacity models to 1KN (0.1Kkg) for higher capacity external sensor models.

  • Accuracy: ±0.5% for internal sensor models, ±1% for external sensor models.
  • Power Supply: 7.2V 1.2V x 6 Ni-MH battery pack.
  • Output Interface: RS232 9-pin socket for computer connection.
  • Charging Time: 4-6 hours.
  • Continuous Use Time: Approximately 15 hours.
  • Battery Life: ≥300 charge cycles.
  • Charger Input: AC100-240V; Output: DC 12V 500mA.
  • Operating Temperature: 5℃ to 35℃.
  • Storage Temperature: -10℃ to 60℃.
  • Relative Humidity: 15% to 80% RH.
  • Working Environment: Free from vibration sources and corrosive media.

The device supports various sensor types, including S-type, spoke, internal thread cylindrical, and external threaded column sensors, each with specific dimensions and load ranges. For instance, S-type sensors range from 50N to 200KN, spoke sensors from 5000N to 1000KN, internal thread cylindrical sensors from 1000N to 200KN, and external threaded column sensors from 100KN to 2000KN.

Usage Features

The instrument features a straightforward interface with dedicated keys for various functions:

  • Boot Key: Powers on the device and displays the model number. Pressing "Clear" after booting clears any zero drift.
  • Shutdown Key: Powers off the device without erasing stored data.
  • Save Key: Saves the displayed test data in peak measurement mode or set parameters in function setting mode. "MEM" indicates data is saved.
  • Settings Key: Accesses detailed setting options.
  • Unit Key: Cycles through N, kg, and lb units.
  • Peak Key: Toggles between "track mode" (real-time load), "peak mode" (peak hold, manually cleared), and "auto peak mode" (peak hold, automatically cleared after 10 seconds, customizable).
  • Rotate Key: Rotates the displayed measured value by 180 degrees in the test interface.
  • View Key: Recalls and displays stored test data. "MEM" flashes, showing the number of saves before displaying the data.
  • Zero Key: Resets the test value on the screen to zero in real-time or peak modes.

The device's settings menu allows customization of various parameters:

  • HIDT (Test value upper limit setting): Sets the upper limit for test values, with a default of 99% of full scale.
  • LODT (Test value lower limit setting): Sets the lower limit for test values, with a default of 0.
  • STOP (Machine stop value setting): Outputs a 5V signal when the test value exceeds the set limit, useful for integration with motor tables.
  • LOSET (Minimum saved value of peak value): Prevents saving peak values below a specified minimum.
  • OFFT (Automatic shutdown time setting): Configures automatic shutdown from 10 to 90 minutes, or disables it.
  • PE.SET (Automatic peak save time): Sets the duration for automatic peak hold (default 10 seconds).
  • G.SET (Gravity acceleration setting): Allows users to input the local gravity acceleration value (default 9.800).
  • BACSET (Backlight function setting): Enables or disables backlight.
  • rEF (Sensor reference value): Manufacturer reference value, not for user adjustment.
  • dir (Positive and negative push-pull direction): Switches the display direction for push and pull forces.
  • SHIELD (Cancel the mask): Displays data below 1% of full scale.
  • RESET (Factory reset function): Restores factory settings and shuts down the machine.

For testing, users select appropriate fixtures, firmly hold the gauge or mount it on a test machine, and ensure the tested force is aligned with the push-pull rod for accurate measurements.

Maintenance Features

  • Charging: Before first use, charge for 4-6 hours. The power indicator light changes from red to green during charging, and turns green when fully charged. If the battery is too low, the indicator may not light up immediately; it will turn red after about half an hour of charging.
  • Data Clearing: All stored data can be cleared by pressing and holding the "Zero" key for four seconds in the "View" interface.
  • Cleaning: Clean the machine with a soft cloth immersed in water with detergent and wrung out. Avoid using volatile chemicals like thinner or alcohol.
  • Troubleshooting:
    • If the "Power On" key shows no display, the battery may be dead; recharge it.
    • If unable to charge, check if the charger specifications match.
    • If the charging indicator light does not turn on, the battery may be too low; charge for half an hour to "wake up" the battery.
    • If test values are inaccurate, the device may need factory calibration.
    • In case of unexpected crashes, press the "Reset" button (small round hole on the left side) with a hard object to quickly reset and shut down.

Safety Precautions

  • Always use the matching charger and RS232 computer cable provided by the company.
  • Do not exceed the MAX range of the instrument to prevent sensor damage.
  • If the test value exceeds 100% of full scale, release or reduce the load immediately to prevent damage.
  • Wear protective masks and gloves during destructive testing.
  • Do not use damaged or severely bent fixtures.
  • Do not pull or insert the power supply with wet hands.
  • Avoid pulling the power cord to unplug the charger.
  • Operate and store the machine within specified temperature and humidity ranges.
  • Do not dismantle, repair, or modify the machine yourself.
