If the Alvarado barriers operate erratically, check that the digital position encoder is securely attached to the pulley shaft with all lock tabs in place. Remember, after re-seating the digital position encoder, you must reset the barrier Home position before cycling the turnstile's power.
Why is my Alvarado system giving a constant auditory alarm?
If the Alvarado system emits a constant auditory alarm, the issue is likely a loose or improper communication connection. Check the I/O control board for a lit or flickering red STATUS LED. Try disconnecting the black 16-pin connectors from the I/O control board and motor control boards, apply contact cleaner/lubricant to the connector pins, and reseat them. If the problem continues, repeat this process on the 16-pin connectors going into and out of the light boards and sensor boards.
What causes Alvarado barriers to stay open or reopen?
If the Alvarado barriers either stay open or start to close and then reopen, check for any stray wire or cable obstructing the individual transmit and receive safety sensors. Move any obstructions out of the sensor's viewing area.
