8 EtherCAT-Master
8.1 General
The conguration of an EtherCAT network is done
with a special conguration tool (eg Beckho󰀨
TwinCAT System Manager).
This tool is provided by any manufacturer of an
„EtherCAT master“.
To congure the connected EtherCAT devices, the
electronic data sheets (ESI-Files) are needed.
See also chapter 4.1.1.
During the conguration of the EtherCAT network
the user selects data, objects and parameters dened
in the ESI-Files.
The ESI - les are illustrated on the real plant and
assigned to the EtherCAT - devices.
The real plant is built up symbolically by the user
via conguration - tool.

This example demonstrates exemplarily the
commissioning of a Dunkermotoren drive with
„EtherCAT interface“ with „Beckho󰀨 TwinCAT“.

8 EtherCAT-Master
8.1 Allgemein
Die Konguration eines EtherCAT-Netzwerkes erfolgt
mit einem speziellen Kongurationstool (z.B. Beck-
ho󰀨 TwinCAT System Manager). Dieses Tool wird
von jedem Hersteller eines EtherCAT-Masters zur
Verfügung gestellt.
Für die Konguration werden die elektronischen Da-
tenblätter der angeschlossenen EtherCAT-Geräte, die
so genannten ESI-Dateien (siehe hierzu auch Kapitel
4.1.1) benötigt.
Bei der Konguration des EtherCAT-Netzwerkes wählt
der Anwender die in der ESI-Datei denierten Daten,
Objekte und Parameter aus.
Diese werden auf die reale Anlage abgebildet und den
EtherCAT-Geräten zuzuordnet.
Die reale Anlage baut sich der Anwender sozusagen
symbolisch im Kongurationstool auf.

Dunkermotoren Antriebs mit EtherCAT Schnittstelle
