such as Calibrations.
Measurement Functions
Calibrate
This function allows calibration of the BOSS system. To create security for this function go
to Preferences and create a user with name and password. This is an administrative
function in Windows. This is not necessary to calibrate the BOSS.
The Boss can be calibrated two ways. You can take an automated or manual measurement
of a known impression. Then click on Calibrate. The text box shown below will appear.
You can choose form a saved calibration file or click on “Supply corrected Measurement”.
If you click on “Supply corrected measurement” you type in the size of the known
impression, then click “OK”
The second method which is also the one expected by ASTM is to do a manual
measurement of a Stage Micrometer, then enter the actual size of the area measured on
the stage micrometer. Then click “OK”
