GENERAL

• Use 117 volt, 50 or 60 cycle, AC po wer. Power line frequency is ind i-
cated on se ri al nu mbe r pl ate (25)_
• Use 3", 5" or 7" RTMA reels with ¼" plast ic base tape wound "dull"
si de in. (Pre- recorded tapes must be of correct tape speed and track
wi dth to correspond with this machine _)
TAPE THREADING
1 Place full SUPPLY REEL ( 4) and empty TAKE - UP REEL (10) on the machine
as ill ustrate d. Be sure turntable pi ns properly engage reel slots.

Secure ree ls in pl ace with HOLD- DOWN KNOBS (5) .
Thread tape from reel (4) to reel (10) as shown. Arrow indicates path
of th reading . Th is path is the same for a ll modes of operation .
4 Whe n t hread ing ha lf tra ck ma chines, note w hi ch si de of the tape reels
is fac ing up ( the hubs are marked for reference). Always be sure to turn
the tape supply reel ove r to record or pl ay back the second track.
STANDBY
• Co nne ct po wer cord to rec ep ta cle (1 B ), 11 7 V AC.
• S nap P OW ER switch (15) to ·· ON "_ The CAPSTAN ( B) wi ll rotate , but
the tape will not move until one of t he two operat ing switches is turned
from its neutra l position.
