To use MPD, you need a remote control app. Via the remote control app, you can point MPD at the Antipodes music library, and play music. In
effect the remote control app is performing the server function. As such, you may suffer lag issues with a large library that taxes the resources
of your remote control device.
The best remote client for MPD on desktop or laptop is Cantata. It can be downloaded free for Windows devices or Macs from:

Tablet/Smartphone Apps to run MPD incur a small fee, and are downloaded from the relevant App Store for your tablet/smartphone.
Just search on MPD. We recommend MPDroid on Android and mPad on iPads. If you are not looking for a lot of server features and your
library is not large, then MPD is an excellent choice.
