iPad has multiple audio input and output options, as described below:
InPut/Output Function
Speaker The speaker produces rich, full sound perfect for
watching a movie or listening to music. It has three
grilles to protect the built-in speaker.
Headphone jack and built-in
microphone
The headphone jack supports compatible stereo
headphones/headsets with microphone.
Note: iPad does not ship with headphones
