The following statement is part of the contract that was signed by the student and
parent:!

We have read Xaverian High School’s Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and fully
understand that the student will be held accountable for all activities including, but not
limited to, the content of materials sent or obtained by mail, news, or any other means
using Xaverian’s network privileges. If an iPad is assigned to the student, we agree to
the terms and conditions outlined above and to abide by the principles and guidelines of
the AUP. We further agree not to hold Xaverian High School or any of its employees
responsible for the performance of the system, loss of data, interruptions of service or
the content of any material accessed through its network. In order to facilitate homework
assignments and communicate with parents in a timely manner, Xaverian allocates an
individual email account to all students as well as their parents. Students will not be
given Network access without completing a signed form and returned to the Technology
Office.!

Selecting a Case:!
!
When selecting a case, there is a wide variety of selections. First of all, there is the
SmartCover created by Apple. This cover automatically turns on your iPad when
opened and puts it into sleep mode when closed. Another cover, you may like is a hard
shell. It protects your iPad against body damage. There are also keyboard cases that
have built in keyboards. This is ideal if you like to type on a keyboard instead of
the iPad touch keypad. "All of this is really just about your personal preference.
When in the store explore your options and pick the case you think suits you.!

For anyone who is in the Music program at Xaverian, Garage Band is an application
you'll love to have, though it features differ depending on the instrument you play.!

What is it? :!
Garage Band is the ultimate app for music. The app allows you to play and record the
drums, guitar and piano on your iPad.!
!
Guitar: On GarageBand guitar, you can play chords, strum the guitar and change
guitars from acoustic, to rock, to classic rock.!
!
Drums: On GarageBand drums, you can play the snare drums, the bass drums and
even the full drums on your iPad. As an added bonus, you can use smart drums to
make your own song by placing different drum parts and instruments onto a square
panel that will automatically make a new song.!
