Differences in Testing Procedures
The iPod mini and the iPod mini (Second Generation) have different testing times for the
battery life test.
iPod mini (Second Generation) Identification
The iPod mini (Second Generation) models have the hard drive size engraved on the back
of the unit.
Special Instructions for iPod mini
If an iPod mini comes in with an audio issue, if the workweek is 416 or earlier, no further
testing is required. Send the iPod in for repair.
The workweek code is the three number code after the first two letters in the serial
number. Example: JQ416xxxxxxxx, where 4 means 2004, and 16 is the 16th workweek.
