This document is an instruction manual for the ASKCAT Baby Bouncer. The manual provides detailed instructions for assembly, usage, and maintenance, along with important safety warnings.
Function Description
The ASKCAT Baby Bouncer is designed to provide a safe and comfortable resting and playing environment for infants. It features a gentle bouncing motion, a toy bar with plush toys, and a music/vibration unit to soothe and entertain the baby. The bouncer is intended for infants who are not yet able to sit up unassisted and should only be used on the floor.
Important Technical Specifications
- Weight Limit: The bouncer is suitable for babies weighing up to 20 lbs (9 kg).
- Power Source: The music/vibration unit requires two size C batteries (not included).
- Materials: The bouncer includes a metal frame, fabric seat pad, and plastic components for the toy bar and music/vibration unit.
- Adjustability: The seat pad can be adjusted to an upright position, and the straps are adjustable for a snug fit.
Usage Features
Safety First:
- WARNING! Not intended for infant sleep and should never be used for this purpose.
- FALL HAZARD: Babies have suffered skull fractures falling while in and from bouncers.
- SUFFOCATION HAZARD: Babies have suffocated when bouncers tipped over on soft surfaces and/or when bouncers have been used as a sleep product.
- ALWAYS use restraints. Adjust to fit snugly.
- NEVER lift or carry baby in bouncer.
- NEVER use on a bed, sofa, cushion, or other soft surface.
- STAY near and watch baby during use. This product is not safe for sleep or unsupervised use. If baby falls asleep, remove baby as soon as possible and place baby on a firm, flat sleep surface such as a crib or bassinet.
- TO PREVENT FALLS AND SUFFOCATION:
- ALWAYS use restraints. Adjust to fit snugly.
- STOP using bouncer when baby starts trying to sit up or has reached 20 lb (9 kg), whichever comes first.
- Toy bar is NOT designed to be used to as a carry handle.
- NEVER use on any elevated surface.
- NEVER leave baby unattended.
- NEVER allow your bouncer to be used as a toy.
- NEVER move bouncer with the child inside.
- NEVER substitute parts.
- Bouncer is NOT intended for use as a carrier.
Assembly:
The assembly process involves several steps:
- Frame Assembly: Connect the rear base frame tube, left base frame wire, right base frame wire, and padded footrest wire to the seat pad and 3-way connectors. Ensure all connections "click" into place and screws are tightened for safety.
- Installing the Seat Pad: Secure the seat pad to the frame by buckling the straps on the back of the pad. Place the bouncer back in the upright position.
- Installing the Toy Bar: Clip the toy bar onto the bouncer as shown in the diagrams.
- Installing the Music/Vibration Unit: Open the battery cover using a Phillips screwdriver, insert two size C batteries, and replace the cover. Align the mounting groove on the unit to the corresponding slot on the footrest wire and slide the unit onto the mounting groove until it is securely in place.
Operation:
- Music/Vibration Unit: The unit has an ON/OFF switch and a music/volume switch (LOW or HIGH). To activate the vibration function, slide the vibration switch to the ON position. To activate the music, slide the music switch to LOW or HIGH and select the volume.
- Seat Restraint: Always buckle the straps on each side of the seat restraint and adjust them to fit the child snugly.
Maintenance Features
Cleaning:
- WASHING INSTRUCTIONS (Seat Pad / Head Rest): Machine wash on gentle delicate cycle with cold water. Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry. Hang to dry. Do not iron. Do not dry clean.
- TOY BAR AND TOYS: Wipe clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Air dry. Do not immerse in water.
- FRAME: Wipe the metal frame with soft, clean cloth and mild soap.
Battery Care:
- CAUTION: To prevent battery leaks, which can burn skin and eyes:
- Remove batteries when storing product for a long time.
- Dispose of used batteries immediately.
- Always replace the entire set of batteries at one time.
- Never mix old and new batteries, or batteries of different brands or types.
- WARNING: Keep batteries out of children's reach. Old and new batteries should not be mixed. Alkaline, standard carbon-zinc, and rechargeable nickel-cadmium batteries should not be mixed. Remove batteries before storing music center for a long period of time.
General Maintenance:
- Check your bouncer for loose screws, worn parts, torn material or stitching on a regular basis. Replace or repair parts as needed.
- Discontinue use of the bouncer should it malfunction or become damaged.
- IMPORTANT: Adult assembly required. Care should be taken in unpacking and assembly. Examine product frequently for damage, missing or loose parts. DO NOT use if any parts are missing, damaged or broken. Contact Manufacture for replacement part and instructions if needed.
