6.5 INSTALLING THE BACKUP BATTERIES
If your Traka Touch S system has been supplied in the UK it will already have 2 backup batteries fitted and connected,
in which case you can skip this section. If your system has been supplied outside of the UK it is likely that you will need
to install the backup batteries.
NOTE: For more information including battery specification please refer to the ‘Backup Battery’ section later
in this document.
1. The battery cables can be found coiled up in the base of the main cabinet. Connect the batteries as shown in the
diagram below.
NOTE: Ensure that the spade connectors are pushed fully onto the battery terminals. It is recommended
that insulation tape is wrapped around the battery to fully cover any exposed parts of the battery terminals.
2. The backup batteries can be secured in place using the 2 fitted brackets in the bottom of the cabinet. The red (+)
terminals should be positioned to the right of the cabinet. Remove the brackets, place the batteries in position and
then refit the brackets.
