Operating Instructions for
Assisi Loop® 2.0 Auto-Cycle
Thank you for choosing Assisi, a non-invasive, non-drug
therapy for your pet. The Assisi Loop 2.0 Auto-Cycle is for
use only on your pet as instructed by your veterinarian.
1. Place the center of the loop over the area that
needs treatment.
Pulsed electromagnetic
therapies may have
effects on the functioning
of powered, metallic
cardiovascular implants or
neuronal implants. Make
sure that distance is maintained from
individuals with these types of implants while Assisi
Loop is delivering treatment.
2. Press the on/off button once. Treat for 15
minutes.
3. After 15 minutes the device will go into “stand-
by” mode for 2 hours and will continue to cycle
through the preprogrammed mode until it is
turned off.
a. During active treatment -- 2 therapy
indicator lights will blink every 1 second.
b. In between treatments -- 1 therapy
indicator light will blink approximately
every 6 seconds, which indicates that the
device is in stand-by mode.
c. To turn the device off, press the power
button. The Assisi Loop 2.0 Auto-Cycle is
off when the indicator lights do not flash.
d. When the device is turned on again, it will
begin a new 15-minute active treatment.
4. For optimal battery life, wait at least 2 hours
between treatments unless instructed by your
veterinarian. If your veterinarian prescribes
more frequent use, battery life could be
reduced substantially.
5. Safety Warnings
There are no user serviceable parts inside the Assisi
Loop 2.0 Auto-Cycle.
Not protected for ingress to water. Do not get the
Assisi Loop wet.
Equipment NOT SUITABLE FOR USE IN THE
PRESENCE OF FLAMMABLE ANESTEHETIC MIXTURE
WITH AIR or WITH OXYGEN or NITROUS OXIDE or
OXYGEN ENRICHED ATMOSPHERES.
Ensure that case and applicator loop are in good
condition.
Pulsed electromagnetic therapy SHOULD NOT BE
USED on patients who have ANY implanted system
that may contain lead.
Assisi Loop 2.0 Auto-Cycle can interfere with
appliances that are designed to detect and amplify
weak radio signals. This includes televisions, radios,
citizen band radios, potentially phones and other
consumer devices in these categories. The
interference may be heard as a repetitive tick in an
FM radio and may cause tearing of a TV picture.
These consumer devices are not generally well-
shielded and are both producers of and subject to
EMI from all sources.
Applicator Etiquette
Bending or elongating the applicator too much will
hinder effectiveness. Keeping the applicator as circular
as possible provides the best field of treatment.
See protocol recommendations on
page 2 of this document.

Question and Answer IconNeed help?

Do you have a question about the ASSISI LOOP Auto-Cycle 2.0 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The Assisi Loop® 2.0 Auto-Cycle is a non-invasive, non-drug therapy device designed for animal use, specifically for pets, as instructed by a veterinarian. It utilizes pulsed electromagnetic therapy to catalyze the anti-inflammatory cascade and accelerate the body's natural healing properties.

Function Description

The primary function of the Assisi Loop 2.0 Auto-Cycle is to deliver targeted pulsed electromagnetic therapy to a specific area of an animal's body. This therapy aims to reduce inflammation and promote healing. The device operates on a pre-programmed auto-cycle, delivering 15-minute active treatments followed by a 2-hour stand-by mode, continuously cycling until it is manually turned off.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Treatment Duration: Each active treatment session lasts for 15 minutes.
  • Cycle Duration: After a 15-minute active treatment, the device enters a 2-hour stand-by mode before initiating the next 15-minute active treatment.
  • Power Source: The device is battery-powered. Optimal battery life is maintained by waiting at least 2 hours between treatments, unless otherwise instructed by a veterinarian. More frequent use can substantially reduce battery life.
  • Indicator Lights:
    • During active treatment, two therapy indicator lights blink every 1 second.
    • During stand-by mode (between treatments), one therapy indicator light blinks approximately every 6 seconds.
    • When the device is off, no indicator lights flash.
  • Safety Warnings:
    • No User Serviceable Parts: The device contains no user-serviceable parts.
    • Water Ingress: It is not protected against water ingress; therefore, it should not get wet.
    • Flammable Environments: Not suitable for use in the presence of flammable anesthetic mixtures with air, oxygen, or nitrous oxide, or oxygen-enriched atmospheres.
    • Implanted Systems: Pulsed electromagnetic therapy should NOT be used on patients who have ANY implanted system that may contain lead (e.g., powered, metallic cardiovascular implants or neuronal implants). A safe distance must be maintained from individuals with such implants during treatment.
    • Interference: The device can interfere with appliances that detect and amplify weak radio signals (e.g., televisions, radios, citizen band radios, phones). This interference may manifest as a repetitive tick in an FM radio or tearing of a TV picture.
    • Case and Applicator Condition: Ensure that the case and applicator loop are in good condition before use.

Usage Features

  • Placement: The center of the loop should be placed directly over the area requiring treatment.
  • Activation: Press the on/off button once to start a treatment cycle.
  • Deactivation: To turn the device off, press the power button. The device is off when the indicator lights cease to flash.
  • Reactivation: When the device is turned on again, it will initiate a new 15-minute active treatment.
  • Auto-Cycle Mode: The device automatically cycles through 15 minutes of active treatment followed by 2 hours of stand-by mode.
  • Manual Mode: For manual use, the device can be turned off after each 15-minute treatment to prevent it from entering the 2-hour stand-by mode. This allows for more frequent, user-controlled treatments.
  • Treatment Frequency (Veterinarian Guidance):
    • Acute Conditions (e.g., post-surgical, trauma recovery): Initially, allow the device to treat automatically for the first week or so. Then, taper off by treating manually for the next 7 to 10 days, or until the condition is fully healed.
    • Chronic/Degenerative Issues: For these conditions, noticeable results may take 1 to 2 weeks. Continued treatment as recommended is advised for ongoing healing.
    • Inability to Keep Loop in Place: If the loop cannot be secured with vet wrap, a sweater/horse blanket, or other clothing, manual treatment 3-4 times per day is recommended, ensuring the device is turned off after each treatment to avoid the stand-by mode.
    • Medication Tapering: If a pet is on anti-inflammatory medications (e.g., Rimadyl), treatments may be maintained at 3 or 4 times per day until medications are fully discontinued, then gradually reduced as the pet shows good mobility and low to no pain response.
  • Expected Results:
    • Acute Inflammation: Noticeable relief typically observed after the first or second day.
    • Chronic/Degenerative Issues: Noticeable results may take 1 to 2 weeks.

Maintenance Features

  • Applicator Etiquette: To maintain effectiveness, the applicator should be kept as circular as possible. Bending or elongating the applicator excessively will hinder the treatment field and reduce efficacy.
  • Cleaning: While not explicitly detailed, the warning against water ingress suggests that any cleaning should be dry or with minimal moisture, avoiding direct contact with liquids.
  • Battery Life Management: To optimize battery life, it is recommended to wait at least 2 hours between treatments unless a veterinarian advises more frequent use. More frequent use will reduce the overall battery life.
  • Device Integrity: Users are advised to ensure the case and applicator loop are in good condition, implying a need for visual inspection for damage.
