ThisjumperallowsyoutocleartheRealTimeClock(RTC)RAMinCMOS.Youcan
cleartheCMOSmemoryofdate,time,andsystemsetupparametersbyerasingthe
CMOSRTCRAMdata.TheonboardbuttoncellbatterypowerstheRAMdatain
CMOS,whichincludesystemsetupinformationsuchassystempasswords.
ToerasetheRTCRAM:
1. TurnOFFthecomputerandunplugthepowercord.
2. Useametalobjectsuchasascrewdrivertoshortthetwopins.
3. PlugthepowercordandturnONthecomputer.
4. Holddownthe<Del>keyduringthebootprocessandenterBIOSsetuptore-
enterdata.
ExceptwhenclearingtheRTCRAM,neverplaceametalobjectontheCLRTCjumper.
Placingametalobjectwillcausesystembootfailure!
Ifthestepsabovedonothelp,removetheonboardbatteryandplaceametalobjectagain
tocleartheCMOSRTCRAMdata.AftertheCMOSclearance,reinstallthebattery.
