Characteristics

The

following

are

the

general

characteristics

of

the

Low-Level

Format

utility:

1.

The

program

is

a

stand-alone

utility

delivered

on

a

nonbootable

diskette.

2.

The

program

shows

the

"BANNER"

informing

the

user

about

the

NUMBER

and

DATA

RELEASE.

3.

The

utility

will

be

aborted

if

the

PC

hasn't

recognized

the

Hard

Disk

Controller.

4.

The

"HELP"

option

provides

information

on

how

to

operate

the

utility.

5.

The

program

can

operate

with

a

DTC

or

WD

controller,

and

will

display

the

type

of

controller.

6.

The

program

displays

the

HDC

configuration

and

prompts

the

user

for

verification

with

the

following

screen:
