AT&T UNIX - Removing the Floppy Disk

Using Floppy Disks
After you have inserted the floppy disk, you can
proceed with your software operation. When the floppy
disk is in use, the light on the upper-left side of the
disk drive is lit.
Caution
Never raise the lever or remove the
flo~y disk from the drive while the red
light is on. Doing so can cause data on
the floppy disk to be lost or destroyed.
Removing the Floppy Disk
To remove a floppy disk from the drive:

1 Make sure the software operation that was
using the floppy disk drive is finished and
that the light on the disk drive is off.
2 Press the lever on the right side of the
drive up and to the right.
3 Pull the floppy disk out of the drive and
return it to its storage envelope.
Note
If you raise the lever on the floppy
disk drive before a software operation
is complete, a warning window appears
within a few seconds. If you see this
window, reinsert the same floppy disk,
lower the lever, and press the Enter
key. Do not raise the lever again until
the software operation is finished and
the red light turns off.
