Formatting
UNIX
PC
Floppy
Disks
Before
you
can
use
a
new
floppy
disk
with
the
UNIX
PC,
you
must
format
it.
Formatting
a
floppy
disk
means
preparing
it
to
accept
the
information
you
want
to
store
on
it.
Once
formatted
for
the
UNIX
PC,
the
floppy
disk
is
usable
for
its
lifetime
without
reformatting.
Because
formatting
a
floppy
disk
erases
whatever
is
contained
on
it,
be
careful
not
to
format
floppy
disks
that
contain
information
you
want
to
keep.
The
following
procedure
shows
you
how
to
format
a
floppy
disk
to
be
used
with
the
UNIX
PC.
If
you
want
to
format
a
floppy
disk
to
be
used
on
an
MS-DOS
system,
see
"Formatting
MS-DOS
Floppy
Disks"
in
this
chapter.
To
format
a UNIX
PC
floppy
disk:
1
Point
to
I
FloppydiskI
in
the
Office
window.
2
Press
<Enter>
or
<B1>.
The
Floppydisk
menu
is
displayed.
