Using
Printers
Setting
Up a
Printer
To
connect
a
printer
to
your
system,
you
must
tell
the
system
the
name
of
the
printer
you
are
connecting.
You
must
also
indicate
whether
the
printer
is
serial
or
parallel.
Parallel
printers
connect
to
the
printer
port,
labeled
Printer;
serial
printers
connect
to
RS-
232
ports.
Check
your
printer
manual
to
determine
whether
your
printer
is
serial
or
parallel.
For
information
on
specific
printers,
see
Appendix
D
of
this
manual.
Note
Setting
up
a
printer
temporarily
halts
the
printing
of
any
other
printer
connected
to
your
system.
You
may
want
to
check
the
print
queue
before
setting
up
another
printer.
To
check
the
print
queue,
see
"Checking
the
Printer
Queue"
in
this
chapter.
The
Printer
Setup
task
can
be
selected
from
the
Administration
menu
in
the
Office
of
the
install
login
or
from
the
Printers
object
in
the
Office
of
every
user
login.
The
following
procedures
show
you
how
to
use
Printer
Setup
from
the
Printers
object.
