– Detach bottom cover -1- from gearbox -arrow-.
Vehicles with 4-cyl. TFSI engine
– To slacken bolts for flywheel, counterhold crankshaft at central
bolt on vibration damper using wrench, 21 mm - T40263- and
adapter -T40314- .
Caution
Irreparable damage can be caused if the camshaft drive chain
slips.
♦ Only turn crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation
-arrow-.
Vehicles with 4-cylinder TDI engine
– Remove cap from vibration damper.
– To slacken bolts for flywheel, counterhold crankshaft with an‐
gled ring spanner -1- at central bolt on vibration damper.
Caution
Irreparable engine damage can be caused if the toothed belt
slips.
♦ Only turn crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation
-arrow-.

in direction of engine rotation each time).
