Never dry windows with the same chamois that you use to dry
painted surfaces. Wax resi d ue on th e cha m ois can impair vision
through the windows .
& WARNING
The windshield must not be treated w ith water-repellent mate-
rials. They can increase glare under poor visibility conditions such
as wetne ss, darkness, or when the sun is low on the horizon . In
addition , they can cause the wind shield wipers to chatter .

Never use war m or hot wa t er to remove snow and ice fr om
windows and mirrors. Th is could cause the glass to crack.
To prevent damage to t he w ires of the rear defogger, do not p lace
any adhesive stic kers on the inside of the rear window over the
wires.
To he lp prevent dirt from scratching the w indow, always scrape
in a f orward direction - pushing the scraper away from you - neve r
back and forth.
Weatherstrips
Compl ete car ca re includes the w eathe rstrips as w ell.
- App ly a suit able rubber co ndit ioner to t he weat herstr ip s
f rom t im e to t im e.
To be able sea l properly, the weatherstrips around the hood, doors,
rear lid , etc. must remain pliable . Spray the weatherstrips with si li-
cone or coat t hem w ith ta lcum powder or glycer ine to retain the
flexibility of the rubber and to protect them against free zing in the
winter .

Steel wheels
The wheels also have to be cleaned.
Always include the hub caps and wheel rims when
washing yo u r vehicle to remove road dirt, salt sprays and
brake dust.
If necessary, use a commercial wheel cleaner to remove accumu -
lated brake dust.
The wheel rims are easier to keep clean if they are regular ly coated
with liquid wax .
Paint scratches shou ld be touc hed up as so o n as possible t o preven t
corrosion~
