Audi A6 Avant 2005 - Renewing Front Brake Caliper (Ceramic Brakes)

Always use new bolts -1- ⇒ ETKA .
– Secure brake caliper with new bolts -3- (196 Nm).
– Clip brake hose into retainer on wheel bearing housing.
– Clip in pad wear indicator wire.
Note
After installing brake caliper, firmly depress brake pedal several
times with vehicle stationary, so that the brake pads are properly
seated in their normal operating position.
– Fit wheels.
Tightening torque for wheel bolts ⇒ Rep. gr. 44
– Lower vehicle.
Caution
Make sure that the brakes work properly before the vehicle is
driven on the road.
5.3 Renewing front brake caliper (ceramic
brakes)
Note
♦ Mark brake pads when removing them if they are to be rein‐
stalled. Reinstall in their original position to prevent uneven
braking.
♦ After replacing brake pads, depress brake pedal firmly several
times with vehicle stationary so that the pads are properly
seated in their normal operating position.

♦ Torque wrench - V.A.G 1332-
♦ Ratchet - V.A.G. 1332/1-
♦ Brake pedal actuator - V.A.G 1869/2-
♦ Piston resetting appliance - T10145-
