Driving settings

Introduction
Audi drive select provides the possibility to experience different
types of vehicle settings in one vehic le. For instance, using the t hree
COMFORT, AUTO and DYNAMIC modes, the driver can switch from
a sporty to a comfortab le driving mode with the press of a button .
Additiona lly, in vehicles with MM I*, the vehicle setup for INDI-
VIDUAL* mode can be customized by you. This makes it possible to
combine settings such as a sporty engine tuning with light
steering. •

Description
Depending on the mode, the engin e and autom atic transmission
respond more quick ly or in a more balanced manner to accelerator
pedal movements.
The
Servotroni c {steering servo assistance):::::, page 217can also be
adap t ed to driving situatio ns.
Dynami c steering changes the steering ratio as a function of the
driving speed in order to optimize the driver's required steering
effort . This sets the steering t o be less sensitive at higher speeds in
order to provide improved vehicle control. At reduced speeds,
steer ing is more direct in order to keep t he steering effort as
minimal as possib le when the driver is maneuvering the vehicle . At
low and average speeds, dynamic steer ing additional ly provides
more responsive steering performance . The driver can set the basic
steer ing rat io characteristics in the Audi drive select .
The adaptive damper s use sensors to record information regarding
ste ering movements , braking and acceleration operations by th e
driver, road surface, driving speed, and load . This makes it possib le
to adapt damping to the driving situation virtually in real t ime. Aud i
drive select also makes it possible to sat isfy the desi re for sporty
suspension (DYNAM IC) and comfortab le suspension (COMFORT)
without giving up balanced tu ning {AUTO).

the engine. This does not indicate a prob lem. •
