Driver information display
At temperatures below 39 °F (+4 °C), a snowflake symbol appears in
fr ont of t he t emp eratur e dis play. It is inte nded to remind t he driver
to pay special attent ion t o
ice on the road.
If the vehic le is stationa ry, or if you are driving at a very low speed,
th e temperature shown in the d isp lay migh t be slight ly higher t han
the actua l outside temperature . This is caused by the heat being
radi ated fr om the engi ne.
The unit of measurement for the temperature can be set in either °F
or in °Con the MMI* or on t he radio control unit. The outside
tempera t ure display automatical ly shows the unit of measurement
t hat has been set. For addi tional info rmat ion, see the MM I* or t he
radio instruct ion manual.
& WARNING
• Never use the outside temperature display to determine if a
road surface is icy or not. Keep in mind that road surfaces, espe-
cially bridges and overpasses, could be ice covered and slippery
even at an outside temperature above 39
°F (+4 °C).
• Alway s remember , even if the "snowflake " symbol (ice
warning ) does not appear
in the display, black ice could be on the
road.
• Always reduce your speed and drive with special care in cold
weather conditions when the chance of encountering icy road
surfaces increases. •
