© - Clean the windshield. To eliminate wa t er drop lets, the wind -
shield wiper performs one afterwipe operation after severa l
seconds while driving . You can switch this function off by moving
th e leve r to pos it ion © w ith i n 10 seco n ds of th e afterwipe op era-
tion. The afterwipe function is reactivated the next time the ignition
is sw it ched o n.
The rear wiper automatica lly switches on when the reverse gear is
engaged and th e fro nt windshie ld wipe rs are on and in op erati on.
Clean ing t he headl ights* . The headl igh t was her sy stem* only f unc-
tions when the light is switched on . The headlights are automati -
cally cleaned th e first t ime and every fif th t im e the lever is move d to
position
G). They are also cleaned every time you ho ld the lever in
pos it io n © for longer than 2 seconds .
© -Wipe the rear window . The rear wiper moves about every 4
seco nds.

depends on how long the lever is held in position 7.
& WARNING
• The rain sensor is only intended to assist the driver. The driver
is still responsible for manually switching the wipers on according
to the visibility conditions .
• The windshield may not be treated with water -repelling wind -
shield coating agents. Unfavorable conditions , such as wetness,
darkne ss, low sun, can result in increased glare . Wiper blade
chatter is also possible.
• Properly functioning windshield w iper blades are required for a
clear view and safe driving .

• In th e case of fr ost, chec k whethe r the w in ds hield wiper blades
are frozen to the windshield. Switching on the windshie ld wipers
can damage t he w iper bl ades !
• Prio r to using a car wash, the windshield wipe r system must b e
sw itched off (lever in pos iti on Ol. This prevent s un intent iona l
switching on and damage to the windshield wiper system .

• The windshie ld wipers are switched off when the ignition is
t urned off . Activate the winds hield w i pers after the ign itio n is
switched back on by moving the windshield wiper lever to any posi-
t ion .
• Worn or dirty windshie ld wiper blades result in strea king. This
can aff ect the rai n sensor f unct io n. Check you r windsh ield w iper
blades reg ularly.
• The washe r fl u id nozzles of the wi ndshie ld was her system are
heated at low temperatures when the ignition is on.
• When stopp ing tempora ri ly, e.g. at a tra ffi c lig ht , t he set speed of
the windsh ield wipe rs is automat ically reduced by one speed . •
