An active b r ake servo is u s e d f o r the f i rst time. T h r o ugh electric al activation o f a pr op or tio n a l mag net in the
br ake servo, br ake pr essur e c a n be gen e r a ted without actuation of the pedal by the dr iver . An admissio n
pr essur e is gener a ted on the s u ction side of the ESP pump. T h is enables the ESP pump t o gen e r a te br aking
p r e ss u re v e r y ra p i d l y . T h e ra p i d b r a k e p r e s su re g e nera t i o n i s re q u i r e d f o r c e r t a i n E S P c o n t ro l i n t e r v e n t i o n s .

Owing t o the larg e br ake f l uid volume in the br ake
system of the A u di Q7, a new TEVES ESP a ssembly
with the designation Mk25E1 i s used.
Active Hall sensors a r e used t o detect the wheel
speeds. T h e oper a t ing princ i ple is the same a s that
of the sensors a l r e ady used in the A u di A8 ´03.
I n the A u di Q7, the f a milia r dual sen s or is used f o r
detecting later a l acceler a tio n , yaw velocity and
lo ng itu dinal a c cel e r a tion. T h e sensor is i n sta ll e d in
the fr o n t pa sse nger f o otwell.
