T h e inf o tainment system f a miliar fr om the A6 '05 is
used in the A u di Q7. T h e system ha s b e en a d apted
t o the inte r i or of the A u di Q7 in sever a l r e spects.
Standard sound syst em
T h e fr o n t inf o r m ati o n di spl a y and o p e r ati ng u n i t
contr o l unit J523 co mprises a 4x20W ampli f ier ,
which dir e ctly drives the 8 loudspeakers, includin g a
tr e b le loudspeaker an d a mid-r a nge/ba ss
loudspea ker in ea c h of the 4 doors .
DS P soun d system
T h e o p tio n al Standa rd so und system f e atu r es an
e x terna l 8- c h annel DSP ampl if ier , the contr o l unit f o r
the digital sound s y stem J525, which i s integr ated
in the MOST bus. I t drives the fr ont thr ee- w a y
systems , th e 2-way systems in the r e ar doors a s well
a s the mid d le loudspeaker integ r ated in the dash
panel. T h is eq uipmen t version dispense s with the
4x 20 Wa tt a m plif ier modu le in the fr ont inf o r m atio n
display and o p er ating uni t contr o l unit J523. T h e
DSP sound system is standard eq uipment f o r the
ba sic plus and high MMI versions.
BO SE sound system
A BOS E sound system is installed in the A u di Q7, the
tec hnolog y of which is ba sed on the Bose soun d
system in the cur r ent A u di A6 Avant '05.
I n order t o impr ove the acous t ics f o r the 3rd sea t
r o w , 2 additions have been made.
An additional subw oof e r is in stalled in th e spar e
wheel well. T h e subw oof e r a nd the middle
loudspea ker ar e driven in mon o by the sa me output
stage. I n order t o drive th e subw oof e r with suf f i cient
ou tput, tw o ou tpu t stage c h annels ar e integr ated in
the amplif ier . T h e middle loudspeaker is pr otecte d
against damage due t o the high amplif ier ba ss
ou tput b y means of a ser i es-connected c a pacit o r in
the middle loudspeaker . T h is oper a t es similarly t o
a
high-p a ss f i lter in tr eble loudspeakers.
F u r t hermor e, the tw o sur r ound loudspea kers in the
D- pillars ar e driv en se p a r a tely . C o nseq uently , th e
sur r o und loud sp ea ke rs c a n be driven using either
ster eo or sur r ound sign als. T h e settings ar e c a rr ied
ou t via the "su rr ou nd level" fu nction in the MM I .
T h e ster eo sound c a n b e individually adapted in t h is
manner . T h e digital so und pac kage co ntr o l u n i t J525
f e atur es 9 loudspeaker outputs in th e BOSE soun d
system option in the A u di Q7. It is o p tio n ally
available f o r the MM I ba sic plus and MM I version s .
Drive s
T h e optio n al CD c h a ng e r is instal led in the dash
panel. In the c a se o f the MMI b a sic, the fr o n t
inf orma t io n displa y a nd op er a t ing unit contr o l unit
J523 with i nte gr ate d single-C D drive i s then installed
un der the centr e armr e s t.

inf orma t io n displa y a nd op er a t ing unit contr o l unit
J523 with i nte gr ate d single-C D drive i s installed at
the f i tting lo c a tion o f the CD c h anger in the dash
