Transmission
The 6-speed tiptronic transmission system is a form of
automatic transmission available on all Audi Q7 models.
The technology incorporates DSP – or the Dynamic Shift
Programme which aligns and converts the engine’s high
power and torque into both sporty performance and
operating convenience, with crisp, fast gear changes, reduced
weight and optimised gearshifting. In the ‘D’ (Drive) and ‘S’
(Sport) programme, the advanced electronics used in tiptronic
respond efficiently to every driver input, helping to prevent
unwanted gear-changes. The driver can override automatic
mode by moving the gear lever into a tiptronic shift-gate,
enabling spontaneous gear-changing for a sportier driving style.
