Cleaning and protection
General information
Regular care preserves vehicle value.
Regular and correc t care wil l contribute to main t ain ing t he beauty
and value of your Audi. Furthermore , good care may be a condition
fo r substan tiating a warran ty clai m shou ld corros ion damage or
paint defects occur.
Your aut horized Audi dealer has a var iety of
dedi cated vehicle -care
product s.
Please make sure you apply them correctly.
& WARNING
Cleaning agents may be poisonous. Keep them out of the reach
of children.
Heed all caution labels.
Alway s read directions on the container before using any
product . Follow the directions carefully.
Most chemi cal cleaners are concentrated and have to be
diluted.
Use spot removing fluid s only
in well ventilated area s.
Do not use gasoline , kerosene, diesel fuel, nail polish remover
or other volatile fluids . They may be to xic, flammable or hazardous
in other way s. Do not wash , wax or dry the vehicle with the igni-
tion on or the engine running .
Do not clean the undersides of chassis, fender s, wheel covers,
etc. without protecting your hands and arms . You may cut yourself
on sharp-edged metal parts.
Moisture and ice on brakes may impair braking effi ciency

wa sh the vehicle.

For the sake of the environment
Select only envi ronmen t ally fr iend ly cleaning product s. Leftover
cleaning products should not disposed of in the household waste.
Care of exterior
Washing your vehicle
The longer insect remains, bird droppings, tree resi n, road and
industria l dust, tar, soot partic les, road salt, and other aggressive
depos its rema in on the ve hicle surface, the more last ing t heir
destructive effect will be. High temp eratures, for example from
inte nse sun light, inte nsify the cor rosive eff ect .
After the end of winter road salting, the
under side of the vehicle
should be thorough ly washed.
Automatic c ar washes
Before go ing t hrough an automatic car wash, you should take the
usua l precautions {closing the windows). If your vehic le has special
accessories - e.g. spoi lers, rad io ante nna - it is best to speak to the
operator of the car wash ~ 0 .
Only use car washes where the vehicle remains stationary and the
clean ing equ ipme nt moves around t he vehicle whi le wash ing and
drying. It is not possible to use car washes where the vehicle is
moved forward on a conveyer

It is preferab le to wash your vehicle in a brush less carwash .
Wa shing with a power wa s her
When washing your vehic le with a power washer, be sure to follow
t he ope rating instructi ons for the powe r was her. This appl ies part ic-
ularly to the
pressure and the spraying distance. Maintain sufficient
