• When t he eng in e is off and accessor ies are sti ll plu gg ed in and
are on, the vehicle battery can sti ll be drained.
• The vehicle battery must not be charged with a standard sma ll
cha rge r that plugs into the ciga rette lighte r or out let. •
Storage

& WARNING
• Always remove objects from the instrument panel . Any items
not put away could slide around inside the vehicle while driving or
when accelerating or when applying the brakes or when driving
around a cornet.
• When you are driving make sure that anything you may have
placed in the center console or other storage locations cannot fall
out into the footwells . In case of sudden braking you would not be
able to brake, depress the clutch or accelerate .
• Any articles of clothing that you have hung up must not inter-
fere with the driver's view. The coat hooks are designed only for
lightweight clothing . Never hang any clothing with hard, pointed
or heavy objects in the pockets on the coat hooks. During sudden
braking or in an accident - especially if the airbag is deployed -
these objects could injure any passengers inside the vehicle . •

To open glove compartment

- Pull the handle ~ fig. 61 in t he direction of the arrow,
push do w n lid to t he f ull y ope n posi t io n.
To close glove compartment
- Push the glove com partme nt lid upward u ntil t he loc k
engages.
The glove compartment light comes on as t he parking or d riving
ligh ts are sw itched o n and t he co mp art m ent is opened. You w ill fi nd
a glasses case in the lid .
The glove comp art ment has a st anda rd 12-volt socket f o r
connecting electrica l accessories . The power consumption at the
outl et m ust not exceed 100 wa tts. The socket wo rks on ly wit h the
ignit ion switched on.
& WARNING
To reduce the risk of personal injury in an accident or sudden stop,
always keep the glove compartment closed while driving. •
