- Let the engine compartment lid drop down and latch in
place .
Do not try to push it shut; it may fail to engage
=>&.
& WARNING
A engine compartment lid that is not completely latched could fly
up and block your view while driving.
When you close the engine compartment lid, check it to make
sure the safety catch has properly engaged. The engine compart-
ment lid should be flush with the surrounding vehicle body parts.
If you notice while driving that the engine compartment lid is
not secured properly, stop at once and close it.
Engine compartment lid emergency
release
The emergency release loop is located under the trim to
the left, near the driver's seat.

- Make sure the rear spoiler is retracted=:> page 160.
- Pull the loop forward to release the engine compartment
lid. The engine compartment lid opens slightly.
