While topping off , the oil must not come in contact with hot
engine parts - fire hazard!
The oil filler cap must be properly secured to prevent oil from
being sprayed on the hot engine and exhaust system when the
engine is running - fire hazard!
If your skin has come in contact with the engine oil , you must
subsequently clean se it thoroughly .

Engine cooling system
Coolant
The coolant provides cooling for the engine . The
pe rcen tage of the coolan t additive dete rm ines the free z e
protecti on of the coolant in the winter .
The coo ling system has been filled at the factory w ith a permanent
coo lan t wh ich does not nee d to be ch an ged . The co olan t con s ist s of a
mixture of water and the manufacturer's glyco l-based coo lant addi-
tive G12++ ant ifree ze w ith anticor rosion add iti ves
(50% for USA
mode ls;
60% for Canadian mode ls) .
Coolant additive
The percentage of the coo lant additive depends on the climat ic condi-
ti on s in w hich the vehicle is operated. If th e pe rcen t age of free ze
protection in the coolant is too low, the coo lant can freeze, leading to
a failure of t he cooling and he at ing circuit.
The pe rcen t age of coolant addi t ive has a lready been adjus t ed at t he
factory for the vehicle's climatic conditions.
The mix rat io fo r USA mo de ls is
50% wat er and 50% coo la nt addit ive,
for Canadian mode ls
40% water and 60% coo lant additive. This
m ixt ur e both assu res t he neces sary fros t prot ectio n (- 3 1 °F/ - 3 5 °C
for USA models, - 40 °F/- 40 °( for Canada models) and protects
metal com ponents in t he engine's cooling system from corrosion and
sca ling . It a lso raises the boiling point of the coo lant .
Summer time
Do not red uce the concentrat ion of the coo lant in the summer by
addi ng plain wate r.
The proportion of coolant additive must be at
least 50 % but not more than 60%
to maintain antifreeze protection
and cooling efficiency.
