Procedure for connecting battery charger:
– Remove cover for brake fluid reservoir in luggage compart‐
ment.
– Disconnect charger clamps from battery charger - VAS 5906- .
– Thread connector end of cables for charger clamps through
hole at brake fluid reservoir to wheel housing.
– Open battery terminal cover -1-.
– First connect charger clamp (+) to positive battery terminal
-3-.
– Then connect charger clamp (-) to jump start terminal (-) -2-.
– Arrange wiring of battery charger - VAS 5906- neatly in recess
in bottom of luggage compartment.
– Under vehicle: Connect cable for charger clamps to battery
charger - VAS 5906- .
– Switch on battery charger - VAS 5906- and adjust settings as
needed.
– Position battery charger - VAS 5906- under vehicle so that it
is hidden from view as well as possible, ensuring that ventila‐
tion grille of charger is unobstructed.
Procedure for disconnecting battery charger:
Remove in reverse sequence.
